permafrost and climate change in the antarctic peninsula (permantar)
Krummholz participates in this project coordinated by CEG/IGOT (Universidade de Lisboa) focussing at monitoring the permafrost environments of the Western Antarctic Peninsula. Krummholz participates in the Antarctic field season in February and March 2018, collaborating in topographical surveing and high resolution vegetation mapping activities. PERMANTAR is funded by the Portuguese Polar Program.
Large landslides in the parque nacional de los glaciares (Argentina)
Krummholz is conducting high resolution geomorphological mapping and analysis of the large landslides of occurrying in the Brazo Upsalla of the Argentino lake in Patagonia. The massive landslides have generated lacustrine tsunamis in 2013 and several sectors of the slope are still moving today. This project is a collaboration with CEG/IGOT - Universidade de Lisboa.
